The series is distributed on CC.com, CC app and CC YouTube Channel and promoted on Comedy Central on-air and across its social media platforms, including Comedy Central’s Snapchat Discover Channel, Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram and Twitter. A selection of the fans’ tweets is then incorporated into the sketch and brought to life by the “CC: Social Scene” ensemble cast. Prior to recording each sketch, Comedy Central reaches out to its fans via Twitter and asks for inspiration surrounding a key summer scenario.

What she wants viewers to take away from her special “I would like to write a book, but right now I’m struggling to get through 10 minutes of yoga every morning, so I’ve got to figure out how to make myself do that,” she said. Povitsky said she has been tie dyeing, cooking and hosting her weekly podcast, Esther Club, during the coronavirus pandemic. (The special was supposed to air June 5, but the premiere date was pushed back amid the protests that followed George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis police custody.) Povitsky, who co-created and starred in the Freeform series “Alone Together,” was gearing up to film Season 2 of the Hulu series “Dollface” when she talked to the Tribune in May. “I believe this is the first time that the library will be featured in a comedy special, and we’re excited to see what footage is included in Esther’s special,” Koester said in an email. Koester said high school and college students occasionally film short pieces in the library with permission. Amy Koester, learning experiences manager for the Skokie Public Library, said Povitsky filmed there in August 2019.
